About Marston

Marston Blow is interested in a curvy way of being. Her work is powerful,  sensuous,                                           and spiritually inspired. Her Ceramic Singing Bowls are some of the only clay bowls                                                       in the world with the ability to produce a cell-tingling harmonic tone that                                                              speaks to our hearts while quieting our minds. Her pottery and sculpture                                                                  are bold, beautiful and seeks to inspire us to our natural, “curvy” selves.

Marston grew up in the tidewater area of Virginia, and earned a                                                                           degree in video and film at Ohio University, where she took some                                                                        pottery courses. After college, she traveled for a year with her
                                                                     brother through Europe and Turkey.

Upon return she moved to NYC, and got her first “real” job with the Big Apple Circus, which she
credits with giving her more experience and confidence than all her studies. For 7 years she was
on the road – periodically working with Cirque du Soleil and Circus Flora; travelling all through      Europe, South America, and across the states numerous times.

During her travels, she lived at Arcosanti, an architectural community in Arizona,
where she was introduced to nature based experiences ~ drumming, sweat
lodges, the phases of the moon, sustainability and general planetary
thoughtfulness. After “running away from the circus to join a home,”
Marston moved to Asheville, took up pottery again at the Odyssey
Center, became captivated by clay, and soon shared a studio
                             in the River Arts District.
